HPMA offers a unique type of medical practice that is designed to allow your physician to limit the size of the practice to several hundred patients instead of several thousand patients. By reducing the practice size, your physician is able to offer same-day or next-day appointments with almost no waiting time, longer, more thorough and relaxed patient/doctor visits, enhanced access to your physician during off-hours, and other important healthcare amenities. In addition each HPMA patient is entitled to a comprehensive physical examination.
When your physician is not available, another HPMA physician will be available. For practical reasons, each doctor must reserve the right to designate one of our other qualified physicians to perform any and all services when the need arises.
Yes. Membership with HPMA does not take the place of health insurance coverage, co-pays or out of pocket expenses. HPMA is an Internal Medicine Medical Practice and not a health insurance program. Patients are still responsible for their own individual health insurance coverage and non-reimbursable charges.
HPMA takes most healthcare plans that are typical for the Greater Cincinnati Area, including most Medicare plans.
No. Your annual membership will not be reimbursed by your healthcare provider. Please keep in mind that there are variations to FSA and HSA Plans, so your administrator will be able to answer this question for you.
Please consult with your tax advisor or accountant to clarify whether such qualification applies to your particular circumstance.
All medical services provided by our office will be billed directly to your health insurance company. The patient is responsible for any out of pocket expenses not covered by insurance. Any service provided by another healthcare entity such as x-rays, hospitalization, etc. will be billed according to their procedures. The tests included as part of the comprehensive physical exam are covered by your annual membership fee.
The annual comprehensive physical exam.
Our staff will be happy to remind you when you are due for your physical. We will try to schedule your yearly physical in approximately the same month as your previous physical.
The cost of any medication, whether prescribed or OTC, is the responsibility of the patient. If you have a prescription plan, in most cases medications are covered per your prescription plan. We do have expertise in assisting patients in purchasing medications in the most cost effective manner.
Call 911 if you have a true medical emergency. If it is non-life threatening, call our office. If an office visit is required, there are physicians in our network across the country that can be recommended. Your HPMA doctor will assist in facilitating this process.
